I am trying to compile dclusr.lib from dclusr.bdsproj, but I am getting the error that the required personality Delphi.Personality is not available. I have seen instructions to use "modify" option in "add or remove programs" to change which personalities are installed, but next to RadStudio I only have a "remove" option, not modify.

I am not sure I understand personalities. I installed everything initially and there was no personality KEY. Then I unchecked everything but Delphi Win32 and now I have a personality KEY.Looks like instead of checkboxes it the option should be radio boxes</> otherwise the IDE suffers from Multiple Personality DisorderI am writing here because I cannot get (emails) from the JEDI/jcl/jvcl sites... Looks like JediInstaller.exe needs to be updated and jvcl also does not work because thinks jcl is not installed even when I did install it.

So which Personality is my BDS 2006 ? This is an important question which I hoped this article or the Help files would answer.I am Trying to install Jedi JCL and the installer says "unable to open key " SOFTWARE\Borland\3.0\PersonalitiesI am using the latest Jedi (JVCL32 build2172) and Update 2 of BDS2006In my registry I have SOFTWARE\Borland\3.0\ and SOFTWARE\Borland\4.0\ but not key marked Personalities. I did the Add/modify/remove technique mentioned in this article but I cannot believe there is nothing mentioned in the help files or how to go about setting the personalities so JCL/JVCL works correctly. I am submitting this issue at the appropiate forum as well.

Not really a problem of the update 2. It is rather a problem what's not in the update:Since yesterday I am unable to link my project. I am getting a linker error LME1598 and a linker access violation. Some research in google yielded that there is a number of open issues concerning the linker. This is a show stopper !Just in case you do not know what a show stopper is: A show stopper is a bug that renders weeks of programming unusable. When some kind of component fails, you can write or buy another component. When the compiler refuses to compile a single source file, you can rewrite that file. What do you do if the linker crashes? Rewrite the application?I could do without most features the BDS2006 offers. But I cannot do without a stable development enviroment. With best regards,Paul HoeppingiSAM AGGermany
