He forgot to mention the tiny detail, that when a program is able to run on the PocketPC, closing it doesn't mean that it's out of memory. It's just a sleeping application which make debugging even more tiresome. Call Application.Exit to terminate the application.

For an alternative you may want to try my IDE Addin that takes care of all the hassle.More information is available on my blog at http://jedqc.blogspot.comNote the post regarding the Delphi 2006 version is a couple down the list now.My website is www.jed-software.com which has a Delphi 2005 version (with more inforamtion) but the preview compiler has not expired. The website does have a link to download videos of previous versions in action showing a number of different demostrations.cheers,Jeremy

BDNtv: Simple Compact Framework development with Borland Developer Studio 2006

It sounds like with some subtle work, Borland COULD modify the current dotNet editor work with the compact framework. It also seems like they have some work to do making their backend compiler technology more flexible. You would think that will the ability to use packages/assemblies, there should be an easy way to tie in a new compiler target into the system that would do the ugly command line bits for us. You would think that since the IDE is already multi-target with more targets planned in the future, that this should already be the case - it makes me wonder why it is not already so.Well, hopefully, those responsible for the IDE will either see the light or read this message and make the appropriate changes.Looser integration of the compiler would both improve the IDE's stability and flexibility AND improve the compiler. They could have an assembly that provides syntax parsing for highlighting and compiling. Then it would be possible to focus on the IDE and compiler as seperate entiies. New language features would not automatically require an IDE rev, new IDE features would not automatically require a compiler REV, and the patch and improvement cycle could happen that much more efficently.Again, kinda makes you wonder why it wasn't that way to begin with. A system like that, and the community could have build a better build system like MS build ages ago.Speaking of, I think I'll nip off and see what I can do to clone pre and post build events with the mess that is the "open tools api"

Thanks Tim,I found the .Net Compact Framework SDK on the Microsoft site. However it only contains cabs for the PocketPcs and not the link libraries you used in the video. Is it necessary to own Visual Studio 2003 to use .NET CF in Delphi ?Cheers,Ton
