The solution you provided for master detail is mutch more difficult than needed. Instead of filter just do:ClientDataSet2.MasterFields:= 'partno';ClientDataSet2.MasterSource := Datasource1;And voila, you have your functionality without adding a filter and ondatachange event on datasource1.

Hello Cary,Yes, I wanted you to know we are eager for the next article while letting you know how much we appreciate what you've written, BUT...Though you don't know me from Adam, nor I you, I'll be so bold as to encourage you not to let the business, or good intentions for articles allow you to forget that God and your family come first. Since we ARE waiting, I expect you are on top of that already. It won't kill us to wait for the next good article :)

Well, I'm trying ;-)I am filled with good intentions, but I've been abnormally busy preparing new courseware for my new Delphi Developer Days 2003 Power Workshops. I'm trying to be good. Really. I hope to make it up to you all with many quality articles in the future.I have been considering setting up an email list for those who are interested, emailing a notification each time I post a new article to the Borland Developers Network site. Any comments on this idea?In the meantime, I am working on a ClientDataSet article about nested datasets. Stay tuned.

Georg:Thank you for the suggestion, but there is a one problem that prevents me from creating a table of contents. This is an ongoing series, and I haven't written the other articles in it yet. Only after the series is complete would I be able to provide such a table of contents. Having said that, I think a final "overview" article with links might be just what you are looking for. I'll definitely consider doing that. And to all, thank you for the kind comments about this series.-Cary

Dear Cary, enjoying your article series I'm missing a 'clickable' table ofcontents. Access via <a href="http://bdn.borland.com/delphi/components/0,1418,10002,00.html">http://bdn.borland.com/delphi/components/0,1418,10002,00.html</a> intermixes your article series with other content.I suggest a 'clickable', numbered list on top/bottom of each articlefor easy access of the other related nice explanations. A downloadableZIP/tarball would come in handy too (including the code samples). Thanks for your excellent workGeorg Rehfeld
