This article was very helpful from an "understand the concepts" point of view, but I cannot get the nested datasets to work as described here (D7 Ent). After much trial and error, I find that I must use the Object Navigator, navigate to the ChildDefs node of the field that was defined as ftDataSet, right click, select Add, then fill out the properties in the Object Inspector. Only after doing so can I "Create Dataset" in the designer. This is cumbersome to say the least - and should you have need to make a change it appears that you have to close the dataset, navigate back to same ChildDefs node (which now shows no child defs), right click, select Delete, make your changes, then recreate it.There must be an easier way?
