why it isn't working with ADO in Delphi7?I have ADOTable, ClientDataset, DatasetProvider on the form corectlyconnected. All working normally, but when I try to call ApplyUpdates in ClientDataSet, this raising the exceptions:"Current Datasetprovider dosn't support transactions".If I replase ADOTable with Table, ApplyUpdates works correctly. What's wrong I do?Alexandr.e-mal:alleb@ua.fm

Cary, I foun your series on client datasets of great value.Under the heading "But it's not for every application", you wrote "doing so sometimes requires a fair amount of coding". I wonder if you will write about how to process large amounts of data with this powerful component. In my opinion, if one could solve this limitation (amount of memory used in the client), every app could take advantage of client datasets. I guess if some kind of "paging" to disk will work...GreetingsJosé

Thank you for the nice comments. As for your suggestion for an article about using ClientDataSets with Web Services, that certainly is a possibility, as I think ClientDataSets are a great way to serve data to a Web services client. I am also considering writing about using ClientDataSets with IntraWeb. The apps that I've seen using IntraWeb with ClientDataSet are simply incredible.

I am surprised there is only 1 comment on this incredibly insightful and well-written article on the ClientDataSet. I look forward to reading the other articles that have already been written. I am using a ClientDataSet for the first time with the XMLTransformProvider which gets its XML from a web service. I would love to see an article on how to use the ClientDataSet in a web services scenario where you want to apply changes back to the web service. Thank you, Cary.
