Hi Anders,as the webservice didn´t work on my machine, I couldn´t win anything:-)WinNT SP 6a, IE 6.0, LAN, Internet over proxy. I couldn´t see anyproperties to configure the VCL Scanner.I ask you to upgrade the VCL Scanner, so I can be part of the surveynext year. For me it was easier to deal with the smtp server. Maybeyou will provide both the next time.Greetings Roman

It was interesting to see that each winner (including me) who won the professional version of the Borland products picked a different one (Delphi, C++Builder and JBuilder). I think it is just a coincidence.I like Delphi very much but because I have bought the Delphi 6 Professional already, I was left to pick only C++Builder or JBuilder Professional. Since I took a Java course from Sun's authorized training partner in March 2002 and I want to know more about Java so I chose JBuilder for my winning product.I find a nuisance in JBuilder that it made use of the keystroke Ctrl-Space which collide with the default Ctrl-Space keystroke used by Windows XP for choosing another input languages (English and Traditional Chinese input in my computer). I knew it is possible to re-define the Windows XP's keystroke but I don't want to change it since it is the 'default' for Windows XP. I wonder if Borland would consider to change this keystroke to something else in the next version of JBuilder (I understand that it may be difficult since this keystroke may be using by a lot of people already) ?

Thanks for the info, Anders.I meant 'least-often' in the context of standard VCL components, created at design-time.I expect that maybe there are components that are hardly used at all, such as, say, TCOMAdminCatalog (of course, any component I might set as an example has a good chance of generating a long list of 'whaddaya mean "hardly used"? we breathe TCOMAdminCatalogs!') :DAnyway, I hope R&D makes good use of the results and makes Delphi 7 even better!

It's up to R&D if they want to publish the results. I can check. Meanwhile some answers to your questions:Q: % non-Borland-supplied components?A: This number has absolutely no meaning per se, as every component that you subclass yourself in your projects count equal to any 3rd party component or any VCL/CLX component that you use. There were tens of thousands of homebrewed component names in the data we got.Q: avg # forms per project?A: This data was not collected.Q: The most often used component?A: TLabel.Q: The most heavily used component?A: TStringField, TIntegerField (note that these are implicitely created in your DFMs when you make static fields)Q: The least often used component?A: This has no valid answer. It's most likely one of your (not you personally) own unpublished components, but it's still very important to you./Anders
