Midas & COM Tips and Tricks

This is a very interesting and relevant article.I especially like the part about "Supporting Multiple Backends" which was exactly my intention.I soon found out though, that making multiple servers for different backends serving the same client is not a trivial task. Not many db-drivers provide compatible field types for the same basic data types, so persistent fields are out of the question on server-side as well as on client side.Without persistent fields, providerflags and other necessary field properties have to be set in code.Am I the only one to face this problem, or am I getting it all wrong ?Søren sbc@mailme.dk

I tried to build this as a tutorial but had problems. The client side said "The OrdersCds component's DataSetField property is set to CustomerCdsOrdersQry".I could not set this. The DataSetField was blank and I could not type in the correct value. Is the code for this article available so I can discover the error of my ways?
