Hello Everyone: I am a Chinese student learning Java programming with Jbuilder4.0 IDE. These days, I try to develop a simple RMI application, and begin the work with the sample project SimpleRMI provided by Jbuilder4.0. When I compile the project, the output files doesn¡¯t contain the skeleton file SimpleRMIImpl_Skel.class(as to Jbuilder3.0, it does). However, in spite of the absence of this file, the server program and client program can still run smoothly. According to the mechanism of RMI(stub class and skeleton class have one-to-one relationship), this might not have occurred, and I can¡¯t understand it. So I make bold to ask for your brilliant remarks and wish it didn¡¯t bore you. Looking forward to your kind reply. Thank you very much! My Email Address: yunmingye@yeah.net Sincerely YunMing.Ye

You are right that only the files (except for license.dat) need to be deleted, but the folder being referred to is **NOT** C:\JBUILDER35 !!!In Windows 9x, the folder you want to delete files in is C:\WINDOWS\.JBUILDEROn Windows NT, the folder is something along the lines of C:\WINNT\PROFILES\YourUserName\.JBUILDERYou can find the .JBUILDER folder quickly on your machine by using the Find->Files or Folders utility off of the Start menu, and search for .JBUILDER on your C: drive. It should find the folder quickly.I hope that this clears up the confusion.

In the instructions for using JDK 1.3 with JBuilder, it says to "Delete everything in your HOME\.jbuilder directory." If I understand correctly, the directory being referred to (on my machine) is C:\JBUILDER35. Am I to understand that the things that need to be deleted are just the "files" in that directory (except for the license.dat file) or should the folders be deleted as well? Seems to me that the answer is no, since the BIN folder and other "important" folders are there which will make the whole thing run. I don't believe that there are more than a couple of files there anyway. Please advise.Thanks.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the .CONFIG files are only utilized by the executable files in the C:\JBUILDER35\BIN folder (e.g. JBUILDER.EXE and JBUILDERW.EXE). Using the new modified batch file circumvents the use of the .CONFIG files. The truncation is a problem, I agree. Don't forget that you can split CLASSPATH entries amongst different command lines by using the %CLASSPATH% environment variable: ex. SET CLASSPATH=C:\JBUILDER35\LIB\JBUILDER.JAR SET CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\JDK1.3\JRE\LIB\RT.JARFor long paths, don't forget that you can use the tilde-notation. ex. Use VERYLO~1\EVENLO~1 instead of VeryLongPath\EvenLongerPath

Yes. Some of the debug windows (such as watch tab) do not automatically refresh when you add an entry to them. What I do, is leave the tab and come back to it as many times as it takes until it has refreshed with the new entries.Inprise has already stated that the JBuilder debugger is not officially supported for use with JDK 1.3
