If I read all the leagal-speak correctly it only talks about data packets originating from a TClientDataset and moving to another TClientDataset.Here is an interresting what-if for you:What if I write an XML file by hand in the correct syntax so a TClientDataset kan understand it, then by some means transfer this XML file from one place to a PC with an application that displays this XML file in a TClientDataset.In this manner the TClientDataset is only used on the end PC, just like in the stand alone scenario. Furthermore, when I write an XML file by hand and transfer this to another PC it can hardly fall under the Midas license, just because it has some predifined layout... or can it?Regards CW

Hi.Using SocketServer to bypass DCOM requires no license. That's good. That's very good. Also, does this apply to httpsrvr.dll/TWebConnection? I hope so, because that means one can create very simple chat programs/instant messenger stuff using virtually no tcp/ip at all, just an IIS server with this dll and some Automation stuff.Delphi Ooowwwwns you!Dave

I hope so too. I'm usually a little wary of jumping on the 'new' technology bandwagon with Delphi because they tend to go through a little bit of growing pains. MIDAS 2+3 have caused almost no problems, even when using the dreaded BLOB fields (and ORACLE 8). KUDOS to the people developing it, it's a fantastic technology. We're in BETA right now, so hopefully we'll be helping to support the technology soon with a few licenses for you guys.

Glad you like the new price. I think it should really help getting people using MIDAS, as they should be.

I almost fell off my chair this morning when I saw the new pricing. Up until now the only thing that raised more eyebrows than the technology itself, was the price. THANK YOU!!! (I'm off to stuff this news down all of the skeptic's throats )
