What I have found in upgrading from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 Professional is that a number of my applications would not work properly, even Delphi 5 Enterprise. My solution was to "fdisk" the system, install NT 4.0 with only the basic functionality to be seen on the network (I have a peer-to-peer), install Windows 2000 Professional, and re-install all my applications on top of Windows 2000. Since that time, my system has been running nicely, including Delphi 5 Enterprise. Of course, I had a full system backup prior to following these steps.

Windows 2000 Support in Delphi 5 and C++ Builder 5

Hello,I was hoping to find some feedback regarding Delphi 5.0 Prof and windows 2000. I had written a program that works fine with Win95/98but will not run on Windows 2000. Can someone shed some light on this.Is this due to some VCL components or do I have to compile programswith Win2000 installed.Any feedback would be appreciated.Regards,FrankNovice programmer.

John,When will D5 be certified under W2K? I have a case open regarding not being able to debug W2K services (which work fine under NT4). I was told by the tech that D5 is not certified un W2K and that I'd probably have to wait until the "next major release" of Delphi for this to be fixed. My case number is 435099ThanksScott KellishSiemens

> I believe Visual studio 7/2000 (or whatever else) will ship with full support for Win2K (that's why is not ready yet?).It will be VS 2001 - it's been delayed until next year. (see http://www.zdnet.com/pcweek/stories/news/0,4153,2437771,00.html).
