It works with the Forecast sheet but not with one of mine !!

yes, I'm having the same problem and it's giving me the fits. I evenwent into the VCL code and tried to debug it there - to no avail. I'm trying to determine now if it's a debug in Delphi's ADO express or in Microsoft's ADO technology. I find it interesting that no one is repying on this thread and I can't find any data on the WEB about it. What gives is no one else using Borland's ADO express? Yes I know that is exactly what I got. Luckily it didn't crash Windows 98 and I made the executable. Then big deal! Nothing can be resized and there is no toolbar. A little bit of a waste I'd say. Hi guys,I'm in need of a little help here. I'm trying to open an Excel file using ADO and have succeeded up until I installed the Delphi 5 Ent. Update Pack 1.Now I'm getting an error opening a semi-complex (contains simple macros) excel spreadsheet, returning the error "unable to decrypt file."I must stress that prior to the installation of the update pack the ADO thang worked for me, which brings to mind the proverb "if it works, don't fix it!"PS: It does still open simple sheets successfully, any comments please forward on to stevew@innovise.com.:o)Regards Ste "Coder" Williams
