I've tested the application on the given example and on some QUITE simple sheets of my own, but it gives me an error accessing my simple datasheets and not Forecast.xlsWhen using the SQL builder on Forecast.xls it gives me a bunch of tables but when using my own files it simply gives me one.The error is always: MS Jet cannot find the object named 'whatever'.

yes, I'm having the same problem and it's giving me the fits. I evenwent into the VCL code and tried to debug it there - to no avail. I'm trying to determine now if it's a debug in Delphi's ADO express or in Microsoft's ADO technology. I find it interesting that no one is repying on this thread and I can't find any data on the WEB about it. What gives is no one else using Borland's ADO express?

Yes I know that is exactly what I got. Luckily it didn't crash Windows 98 and I made the executable. Then big deal! Nothing can be resized and there is no toolbar. A little bit of a waste I'd say.

This selection can be done at run time. 1. Add an ADO connection component ans combobox to the form2. Use the connections GetTableNames method3. Put the table names into combobox4. On the combobox change event set the commandtext then open the dataset

Creating a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Viewer Using Delphi 5's ADO gives ERROR 'unable to decrypt file.'

Hi guys,I'm in need of a little help here. I'm trying to open an Excel file using ADO and have succeeded up until I installed the Delphi 5 Ent. Update Pack 1.Now I'm getting an error opening a semi-complex (contains simple macros) excel spreadsheet, returning the error "unable to decrypt file."I must stress that prior to the installation of the update pack the ADO thang worked for me, which brings to mind the proverb "if it works, don't fix it!"PS: It does still open simple sheets successfully, any comments please forward on to stevew@innovise.com.:o)Regards Ste "Coder" Williams
