You can use any dbf file for the sample. Just make sure that it has at least 6 fields with no blank data. For some reason, my sample program bombs out when it hits a field with no data in it. Remember to rename the file clients.dbf and when you create the dsn, choose the directory where your version of clients.dbf is. You can also change the line of code that reads "select * from clients.dbf" to "select * from whatever.dbf".

This is a very helpful article that clears up a lot of questions I had about ADO. It worked perfectly, but left out one important detail. How do we make this sample program work on another computer??? I know that the ADO component has to be registered on another computer, but I don't how it's done. I get the error "class not registered" when I try to run it on my laptop. I can find the msado15.dll file, but don't know how to register it. I tried regsvr32.exe and I also tried downloading the sdk from Microsoft. Neither worked. Help!!!!! TSalais@uswest.net
